New Empress Magazine - Carlton Cinema
Below is a full-page illustration created for the second issue of New Empress magazine.
The article highlighted the architectural splendour of the now sadly derelict Carlton Cinema, Essex Road, North London, which opened in 1930.
The brief was to create an illustration which looked like it advertised the cinema in its newly opened Art Deco period magnificence.

I've recently created a one-off piece for my brother's 40th. He's a massive fan of Gram Parsons so created this using pencil, watercolour, ink and... sequins.
